2024 Raffle Quilt | Fine Art of Fiber Raffle Quilt: Information About the Process Each year the Guild designs and creates a quilt to display at the Fine Art of Fiber at the Chicago Botanic Garden. The winner of the beautiful raffle quilt is drawn the week after the show, and the winner contacted. Proceeds from ticket sales help to cover guild expenses. Many volunteers are needed for all phases of this project, including design, construction, quilting, ticket sales and traveling to other guilds with the quilt. Your help is welcome and invited. Guild Members are invited to organize and participate in a team each year that proposes designs, collects fabric, buys fabric, and figures out the quilt pattern, size, and how the blocks or pattern will be divided up so that members can help make the quilt. Often the quilting is done by a member of the guild who has a long-arm quilting machine. Volunteers to bind the quilt are requested when the quilt is completed. Starting in May, volunteers are requested to take the quilt to other guilds and display it and sell raffle tickets. Members
are also asked to take a packet of tickets and either sell them to
friends and family members or buy them outright. Though not required we
heartily encourage members to take a packet of tickets. |
