The Fine Art of Fiber

Spend some of those hot humid days of summer indoors finishing your project(s) for this year's Fine Art of Fiber show, to be held at the Chicago Botanic Garden from 10-5 on Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 8.

A new guide, How to Prepare Your Submission to Hang on a Wall in the Exhibit, has replaced the rod pocket instructions under Forms on the website.

Here are some key dates:

July 1: instructions and application forms for the Exhibit, Boutique and Fashion Show go live on our website, fineartoffiber.org.  A perk of guild membership is that your #1 submission gets into the show as long as it conforms to Garden and show guidelines.

September 2: Applications for the Boutique are due to Ronna Leibach

September 12: Individual and group applications for the Exhibit are due to Chris Deering. In addition to completing the forms online, physical copies must accompany 4"x6" color photos of submissions to Chris.

September 12: SignUp Genius opens for volunteer signups.

November 4: Drop-off and set-up for the Boutique

November 5: Drop-off and set-up for the Exhibit.

Thanks for the strong positive response to our proposed new slide show initiative for those in the Exhibit, "Meet the Makers: Show and Tell." Later this summer you will receive full instructions about the information and photos you need to submit via email to me in order to participate. Keep an eye out on your InBox in August!

90% of Silent Auction sales go back to benefit the donor's guild(s) so please give generously. Chris Deering and Gretchen Alexander are accepting donations now--the form to accompany them is already available on the website.

Wishing you a creative summer
