The Fine Art of Fiber

The Fine Art of Fiber (FAOF) show hosted by Illinois Quilters, North Suburban Needle Arts Guild and the Weaver's Guild, is the area’s oldest, largest and most distinctive fiber art event. The event is held at the Chicago Botanic Garden, providing members of the three guilds a wonderful opportunity to display their work. This year’s show will be held November 1-3. 2024.

The show, now in its 34th year, is well attended, inspiring and offers consistently wonderful examples of quilts, fiber art, and weaving. In addition, IQI members can display their own work to sell, and provide items for the boutique table or the silent auction.  The IQI Raffle Quilt is displayed with tickets on sale.

The Fine Art of Fiber typically includes a table at the Boutique where many members donate items to sell for the benefit of the Guild. In addition, a Silent Auction runs throughout the show with different items on display each day. Individual members can also request a table and sell their own work. Details on how these sales work are available at the Fine Art of Fiber website. Guild members who have sold things in the past are a good resource. 

Submission forms for the exhibit and boutique and deadlines will be posted in July on the Fine Art of Fiber website at fineartoffiber.org.  Entry to the show is free, but there are fees for parking and admission to the Garden for those who are not Garden members.  IQI volunteers receive a pass for parking and Garden admission.

2024 Raffle Quilt 

The 2024 Raffle Quilt “Midnight Garden” will be raffled after The Chicago Botanic Garden, Fine Art of Fiber Quilt Show, November 1-3, 2024.  This lovely quilt, made by several IQI members, is a queen size quilt.  Tickets will be available for sale starting in May 2024 and will also be sold at the Botanic Garden Show. IQI members will have tickets for sale.
