Welcome to Illinois Quilters, Inc. (IQI)!

Illinois Quilters, Inc. was founded in 1980 for people interested in quilts and quiltmaking. Our guild promotes an appreciation of the fine design and workmanship of quilting through fun, educational events. We honor and preserve our quilting heritage and encourage quilt-based community service. Quilters of all ages and experience levels are welcomed!

Our quilt guild meets in the evening on the first Thursday of the month, September through June in person, at Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Northfield (Map).  Some meetings are also available via Zoom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:00 p.m.

Our programs feature speakers who demonstrate either a technique, explain a history, present a trunk show of their work, or address a particular theme or type of quilt. Program lectures last about an hour with time for questions. After the program there are announcements, show and tell, and other activities.

Non-members are welcome to attend our meeting, the Zoom-only and Hybrid meetings for a fee of $10. If you are joining us in-person when we are hosting a Hybrid meeting, you are welcome to pay at the door.  If you'd like to join via Zoom, please register and pay online as a Guest.

We have a wide variety of activities beyond the monthly program.

Our programs and workshops are held at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension at 460 Sunset Ridge Road, Northfield, IL.  For a map, click here

We hope you're having a great summer, with the weather, the heat, and the smoke it's probably a good idea to stay indoors and quilt.  Be sure to check out the new programs and workshops to the right of this page.

Be sure to renew your membership to be able to attend our great workshops and programs.  You also have to be a member of IQI to enter a quilt in the Fine Art of Fiber at the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Information about the
Fine Art of Fiber

Spend some of those hot humid days of summer indoors finishing your project(s) for this year's Fine Art of Fiber show, to be held at the Chicago Botanic Garden from 10-5 on Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 8.

A new guide,  How to Prepare Your Submission to Hang on a Wall in the Exhibit, has replaced the rod pocket instructions under Forms on the website.

 Here are some key dates:

July 1: instructions and application forms for the Exhibit, Boutique and Fashion Show go live on our website fineartoffiber.org. A perk of guild membership is that your #1 submission gets into the show as long as it conforms to Garden and show guidelines.

September 2: Applications for the Boutique are due to Ronna Leibach

September 12: Individual and group applications for the Exhibit are due to Chris Deering. In addition to completing the forms online, physical copies must accompany 4"x6" color photos of submissions to Chris.

September 12: SignUp Genius opens for volunteer signups.
