Lecture: Snippet Stew Patterns, with Carrie Quinn

  • October 03, 2024
  • 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Lutheran Church of the Ascension

Carrie Quinn will be offering a trunk show talking about her Snippet Stew Patterns. She will give a description of her process for making quick cut scrap quilts using the June Tailor Shape-cut Plus ruler, and Layer Cakes.

Carrie has loved working with textiles for as long as she can remember, and quilting runs in her family. She is fortunate to have several quilts made by her grandmothers and great grandmothers, some dating back to the Civil War. This is what inspired her to begin quilting in the early 1990s.

In 2006 she opened the Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop in Fox River Grove, Illinois, with a focus on reproduction quilts and fabrics. She designed quilts inspired by antique quilts, and offered classes and clubs that taught people to make antique style quilts, using modern methods.

2012 the shop was featured in Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine as one of the Top 10 shops in North America. Around that time, Carrie designed her first reproduction print line. She now designs fabric lines for Marcus.
