Workshop: Wrapped in Scraps, by Catherine Redford

Learn to make a beautiful bowl or table runner from clothes line and fabric on the sewing machine. We’ll start with the basic no fuss techniques, then choose your project and start stitching. Go home with the skills necessary to start your next fabulous piece.

Supplies:

-100 ft clothesline (3/16” diameter, cotton)

-One yard fabric cut into one-inch strips (solids, batiks, hand dyed works well)

-Machine thread to co-ordinate with fabric (please wind several bobbins ahead of class)

-Sewing Stiletto or similar

-Scissors that will cut through clothesline

-Mini clip or clothes peg/pin

-Sewing machine with zigzag stitch and usual sewing supplies as you usually use

-Open toe applique foot and 90 topstitch needle

-If making the table runner you also need painters’ tape and a sharpie pen.
