Thread Painting is many things…creating a picture, adding details, dimension, and/or depth to an applique, making fur on an animal, or just adding little details to make your creation come alive. You will learn loads of techniques in this class, and you'll learn all about stabilizers. You'll create different items using the stabilizers This is a fabulous technique to add to your skills! You’ll be surprised how fun and forgiving Thread Painting is!!! Let yourself be warned…this is addictingly fun!!!!
Note: You MUST be somewhat comfortable with free motion quilting on your domestic machine.
(You can be a beginning free motion quilter who has taken a class and played some with it. You DON"T have to be an expert!)
Supply List:
-Sewing machine & Manual– CLEANED and in good working order!
-Marking tool - fine tip permanent marker, water erasable, or your favorite
-Power cord and foot pedal…please!
-Feed dogs DOWN
-Extension table – This is a must!
-Free Motion quilting foot – If you have more than one, use your favorite. We cantalk more about this in class if you have a question.
-Single Hole Needle Plate – if you have one, I have a trick if you don’t have one.
-Regular sewing supplies
-Extra Empty Bobbins - several
-90/14 Topstitch Needle - ONE IS IN YOUR KIT!
-1 Fat quarter sandwich with floral fabric – Foral Fabric IN YOUR KIT!
-Floral fabric on top, batting, and back. Basted by pins, 505 spray, or handstitching.
-1 Fat quarter sandwich - for practice
-Threads - All kinds and colors of threads! Cotton, Polyester, Metallic,
Rayon, whatever you have you can use…even embroidery threads!
-Quilting gloves - if you have them
-Drawing Paper and Pencil! – School lined paper is fine
